Aftermath Of CHAN Ouster, Sunday Oliseh Rips Into NFF
Following the Home Eagles’ embarrassing loss to the Syli Nationale of Guinea which led to the team’s ouster at the ongoing African Nations Championship, CHAN 2016, the Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh is currently at loggerheads with the football federation, NFF.
According to Oliseh who earlier tendered an unreserved apology to Nigerians following the team’s exit, he used his money to finance the team during the competition. “I spent $4,000 on the team because the food in camp was not good enough. I used my personal funds to get the team going for the interest of the nation.”

“We have family men who have been working hard for 50 days, but who couldn’t afford to buy a Coca-Cola. It was unbearable and now they are going back home with nothing to give to their families,” he added.
The former captain of the Super Eagles also expressed his fear of the Home Eagles failing to honour National call-ups in the future due to the treatment meted out to them by the NFF officials.

“I have one big fear – I hope when we call the players they will not refuse to play for Nigeria. It’s scary but real. I have received phone calls from them asking about what they are being owed.”
You will recall that Nigeria failed to progress beyond the first round after losing 1-0 to the Syli Nationale Stars of Guinea in their last Group C match at Rubavu in Rwanda.
Nigeria finished third in Group C with four points, Tunisia tops the group with five points, same points with Guinea, but emerged tops with superior goal difference. Eagles won bronze at the last edition of the tournament held in South Africa in 2014.
